Best Pizza Ever

Last night I made pizza for the family.  I decided to try out making pizza dough from scratch.  It is easy and fast!

1 package yeast
1 cup warm water
2 1/2 - 3 cups flour
2 tablespoons oil
1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Proof the yeast in the warm water.  Mix in all the ingredients and knead for about 6 minutes (until the dough is formed). It was easy to use a stand mixer for that part.  Put in a greased bowl, covered, and let rise 30-45 minutes (until doubled in size). Punch down dough and put on a pizza stone. Add your toppings and cook in a 400 degree oven for 20-30 minutes.

It was the most delicious dough I have ever eaten!  I have experience from a previous job (Pizza Hut) so I know the smell and texture.  I may want to make "stuffed crust" next time. It is funny to tap into my previous job. Who would have known my experience would have proven useful? 

It is great to be able to make healthful meals while still eating "junk" food.  It was great pizza and it may become a frequent meal at our house. I may try out using a portion of whole wheat flour for added health benefits.
