A Conversation with Sebastian

Here is a transcription of a conversation I had with my not-quite-21 month old son. Sebastian is carrying around a penny and a nickle upstairs.

Me "Hey Sebastian, what do you have?"
Seb "Moneys!!"
Me "Oh, money.  What are you going to use it for?"
Seb "Ummm...." He rolls his eyes while thinking.
Me "Are you going to use it for icecream?"
Seb "Nyooo..."
Me "Are you going to use it to buy a toy?"
Seb "Nyo..."
Me "Are you going to save it?"
Seb "Nyo" ::smile::
Me "So what are you going to use it for?"
Seb "Car!"
Me "Do you want to buy a car?"
Seb "No. Car!" ::points out in the direction of our cars::
Me "Oh, you want to go for a car ride?"
Seb "Two." (Two means yes. I don't know why, but that is Sebastian language)
Me "Where do you want to go?"
Seb "Daddy!"
Me "Aww, you want to visit Daddy?"
Seb "Two" ::grabs my neck in a hug

We then go downstairs. Sebastian immediately runs towards the kitchen, stopping in the dining room.

Seb "Uh oh. Where da cake?" (We had cupcakes for Matt's birthday yesterday)
Me "Oh, Daddy took them in to work."
Seb "Oh no. Daddy. Car? Daddy?"
Me "No Sebastian, we are not going to get the cupcakes back."
Sebastian then huffs and plops to the ground.
Me "Sebastian, really?"
Seb with a new upbeat attitude says "mmm... Donald Duck?"

It is fun to have conversations with Sebastian now, and more often than not they end with Donald Duck.
