It's a boy!

Sebastian Thomas
born Saturday, June 23, 2007
12:46 am
7 pounds 12.5 ounces
20 3/4 inches long
Proud Parents: Matthew and Elyse

After much thought, you were named:
Sebastian Thomas

The first thing I thought when I saw you was:
I was so high on drugs I barely remember the night. I bet I said, "dang these are good drugs."

The hardest part of the delivery experience was:
Getting the epidural. It took six attempts and an hour and a half in order to get me just partial relief. I was shaking uncontrollably and it was very difficult to relax.

The easiest part of the delivery experience was:
The last 5 centimeters after the epidural because I slept through it.

What surprised me most about the delivery experience was:
As he was being born, he had his hand right next to his head.

This is what happened the day you were born:
I woke up on Friday to broken bag of waters. We went to our scheduled ob/gyn appointment and then were sent to the hospital. I was in early labor, so they gave me gel to start bigger contractions. They had to also then give me pitocin. The contractions got very painful so they gave me stadol and from this point on I don't remember much of the birth. When I got the epidural I was shaking uncontrollably and it took so long! I fell asleep after the epidural and I woke up, called the nurse and said "I think there is something down there." Sure enough- it was time to push and within the hour Sebastian and his head of hair emerged into the world.

What I can't wait to do with you:
Everything!
